MAWABU SKI LODGE
Mawabu is an private members’ ski lodge in the alpine resort in Perisher NSW, originally constructed in 1960.
The original weatherboard building was in need of complete refurbishment. Stage 1, was the demolition and reconstruction of all the accommodation rooms to provide full ensuites, modern facilities, high grade insulation and new external cladding.
Stage 2, currently underway is for the refurbishment of the public areas including, wrap around balconies, extension to the dining area, new roofing and double glazing. As well as, completing the external cladding.
The end result is a very modern, functional ski lodge for the members of the club.
D5D undertook full architectural and project management services as well as procuring authority approval through Planning NSW and NPWS.
