With four campuses throughout Sydney, the Randwick facility is the latest for Montifiore Homes, the largest Jewish aged care provider. The design of this new campus in Randwick has been influenced by leading-edge research into aged care needs and quality of lifestyle.
The Home is built around two substantial internal courtyards, with the main entry off Dangar Street. It offers a number of impressive facilities including the largest Hydrotherapy pools in the southern hemisphere with a circular spa for massage therapy and relaxation, Burger Day Centre, community plaza and ample underground parking. The Randwick campus caters for 276 residents within four alternate streams of aged care accommodation – High Care, Low Care, Secure Dementia Care and Respite Care.
D5D was brought in by the Project Manager, McLachlan Lister for design review, design development and the construction documentation phases of the project. By placing D5D architectural staff in both the Design Architect’s office as well as on site, we were able to substantially reduce the construction programme and expedite the Building Contractor’s queries.
